Smith, Jesse Hunton

Jesse Hunton Smith, 96, of Christiansburg, VA. and formerly of Arlington, VA. died September 9, 2015. Pop was born on August 19, 1919, in Rappahannock County, Virginia to the late Eppa and Pearle Sisk Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hendrick Smith; two sons, Kevin Michael Smith and Stephen Hunton Smith; four sisters and one brother.

Pop was a veteran of World War II having served in the Italian Campaign.

Pop is survived by his son, Timothy L. Smith and wife, Patricia, of Christiansburg, VA; daughters, Theresa E. Smith of Alexandria, VA and Catherine S. Brumbles of Martinsburg, WV. He is also survived by six grandchildren, T. Michael Smith and wife, Katherine; Joanna S. Reynolds and husband, Jessie; Kevin Smith, Nicole L. Caldwell, Elena Smith and Michael Brumbles along with nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 1184 16 East Main Street Christiansburg, VA. 24073. A graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
