James Arnold (Jimmy) Smith, 60, of Dublin, passed away Friday, October 12, 2007. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 with 25th Infantry Division and in Desert Shield/Storm from 1990 to 1991 with 1033 Transportation Company from Gate City, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Smith and two brothers, Donnie Lee and Teddy Smith. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Stafford Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Melissa Smith; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tena Burton; Teresa and Craig Thomas all of Dublin; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Edward Moore of Christiansburg; two sisters-in-law, Lee Ann Smith of Christiansburg; Kathy Smith of Pulaski; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Mullins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Pulaski with Pulaski V.F.W. Post #1184 conducting graveside rites. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Veterans in Pulaski.
