amem_red_tulipsInez Blankenship Smith, 92, of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 27th, 2015. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on April 16th, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Edward Lowman and Sallie Belle King Blankenship.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hewitt Smith; a son, William David Smith; two daughters, Helen Ramos, Sallie Mae Smith; four brothers, Arby Blankenship, Marvin Blankenship, Clifton Blankenship and Clarence Blankenship; four sisters, Macy Williams, Verena Vaughn, Irene Hale, and Roxie Fleeman.

Inez was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus on Blankenship Mountain. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend, she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Margaret Fay Hamilton and husband Bill of Narrows, and Ann Ratcliffe of Rich Creek; a brother, Gene Blankenship and wife Loretta of Franklin County; eight grandchildren, Vicky Robbins, Regina Ramos, Bobby Gene Pagan, Jr., Greg Pagan, Matthew Hamilton, Adam Meredith, Jeb Ratcliffe; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. Kenneth Blankenship and Rev. Clifford Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
