Smith, Ethel Ruth Lancaster

Ethel Ruth Lancaster Smith passed away December 14, 2007, at Radford Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born August 29, 1916 in Snowville, Va., to William Omar and Dora Lillian Whitlock Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings; husband, Thomas Smith; daughter, Charlotte S. Well; and grandson, Robert A. Smith.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James K. and Bev Smith, Las Vegas, Nev., Robert T. and Ruth Smith, Houston, Texas, Joseph H. and Rhonda F. Smith, Christiansburg, Va. and Dean and Billie Smith, Staunton, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Buck Simms, Allen, Texas, Lee and David Loudermilk, Joyce and Ervin Crisco, Oklahoma City, Okla. and Barry Wells, Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Mary Lancaster, Hiwassee; Va.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, with Pastor O.D. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Monday, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home.
