Smith, Elizabeth Martin

Elizabeth Martin Smith, 77, of Narrows, Va., went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, February 18, 2007, at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg, Va.

A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on August 15, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Roy Ernest and Rutha Robertson Martin.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Randall Smith; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Farley Smith. She was a faithful member of Kathleen Memorial United Methodist Church on Wolf Creek.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Darlene and Stanley Blankenship, Judy and Stanley Hamilton; one son, Jimmy O’Keefe Smith, and wife, Darlene Johnson Smith, all of Narrows; four grandchildren, Randy Smith, and wife, Amy, of Narrows, Angie Whitt, and husband, Chris, of Peterstown, W.Va., Amy Beth Hamilton, of Narrows, and Jason Hamilton, of Narrows; three greatgrandchildren, Hunter Smith, Chase Smith, and Tyree Brown, all of Narrows; two sisters, Jackie Trent, and husband, Frank of Narrows, and Linda Wilson, of Narrows; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. Leon O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
