Smith, Edward Oats

Edward “Oats” Smith, age 70 of Dublin, departed this life on June 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born Jan. 12, 1942 in Pulaski County, the son of the late Joe Smith and Lottie Hendricks Smith.

He attended the public schools of Pulaski County and was a former member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in New River. He was a former employee of the Bunk Austin Moving Co. of Radford.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Lisa Smith of Roanoke; four sons, James Smith of Florida, Anthony Smith of Georgia, Edward Smith of Pulaski, and Rodney Smith of Roanoke; three sisters, Louise Ingram of New River, Dotchie (Sam) Hubbard of Radford, and Mary Rollins of New River; three brothers, John Luke Smith and David Eli Smith, both of Radford, and Bobby Lee Smith of Ohio; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; special friends, Linda, Phyllis and Tammy of Dublin, and the Bradley Ridge Court family.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 7, 2013 at Liberty Full Gospel Church, 86 Lee St., Radford, with Pastor Jerry Wyms officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. service time.

The family is in the care of Penn’s Funeral Home, Pulaski.
