Smith, Dennis Maynard

Dennis Maynard Smith, 67, of Christiansburg, died on Monday, June 25, 2012, at his home. He was born in Winding Gulf, W.Va., on April 7, 1945, to the late Arnold Ray and Lillian Shrewsberry Smith. He was a Freemason having been a member of the Kissimmee, Fla., Lodge. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Eva Ann Smith, of Christiansburg; one son, Dennis Ray Smith, of Christiansburg; two daughters and son-in-law, Denise and John Moore, of Christiansburg, and Crystal Webb, of Christiansburg; five grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; stepmother, Teresa Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Lorinda and James Carter, of Mabscott, W.Va.; brothers and sisters-in- law, Vernon and Sharon Smith, of Coal City, W.Va., Gary and Shannon Smith, of Tucson, Ariz., and Randy and Renee Smith, of Coal City, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Joyce Griggs, of Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 1160 Moose Drive, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
