On the morning of Tuesday, September 23, 2014, Calvin Bruce Smith left this life while at his home in Draper to receive his crown in the presence of angels and was welcomed by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his loving father and mother; Charlie H. Smith, Jr. and Katherine Edwards Smith.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 38 years Carolyn Hoback Smith – Draper

Loving Daughters & Sons-in-law- Sabrina Angelique Cox & Mark – Snowville, Catrina Anette Troy & Tom – Draper.

Loving Son- Jeremey Quinton Smith – Dublin

Grandchildren- Jared Wayne David, Carley Marie Cox, Wenzori David, Sara Katherine Cox, Jocelyn Rae Troy whom he loved dearly

Sister & Brother-in-law- Kathy & Richard Golladay – VA

Calvin was a lifetime resident of Draper, a community he loved so much. He worked at Radford Army Ammunition Plant for Hercules and Alliant Tech for 43 years where many of his lifetime friendships were made. He was a member of Drapers Valley Presbyterian Church where he had served as Deacon. He was a committee member with Boy Scout Troop #48. He spent many days on the soccer fields watching his children and grandchildren play soccer.

He served as president of Draper Recreation Department and was on the Pulaski County Recreation Board when his children were young. Calvin was a devoted family man, loved the outdoors – especially family beach trips and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. His presence in our lives will be forever missed.

He will be honored by those that love him with a celebration of life at Bower Funeral Home – Pulaski on Friday – September 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM – Visitation with family will be from 6-8 PM Thursday evening.

Any expression of sympathy and love will be much appreciated by the family.
