Smith, Bernard Posey

Bernard Posey Smith, 85, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at his home.

Surviving are his wife, Janie S. Smith; sister-in-law and her spouse, Joan and Bob Sledd; numerous nieces and nephews; several very special friends including, Terry Kingrea, Lisa Hodge, Pastor and Sister Tom Peters and all the church family; and friends and neighbors at Truman Annex, Christa Kurn and children.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Jones and staff, the doctors and nurses at Montgomery Regional and the Hospice Staff.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to the New Life Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ Building Fund, 783 Stafford Drive, Christiansburg, Va. 24073.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 31 at the New Life Apostolic Church. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 1 at the New Life Apostolic Church conducted by Pastor Tom Peters with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
