Slusser, Virginia Dove
Virginia Dove Slusser, age 81, of Blacksburg, died at her home on Saturday, April 29, 2023. She was born in Blacksburg, Va., on June 23, 1941, to the late Willie Antney and Lola Owens Dove. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Buddy Dove and Robert Dove, sisters, Nellie Cook, Betty Tolley, and Ellen Dowdy.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wayne Slusser; daughters, Cindy Stanley, Gwen (Bill) Ekhaml, Carrie (Jeff) Ligon, and Emily Slusser; sons, Steve (Melinda) Slusser and Billy Slusser; brother, Gene Dove; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Graveside service will be conducted Saturday, May 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Dove Family Cemetery with the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver, Jr., officiating.
