Slusher, Robert Lincoln

Robert Lincoln Slusher, 88, of Shawsville, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007. Mr. Slusher was a United States Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was the son of the late Judy Rosa Belle and Hillary Moses Slusher.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, “BB” Maberry Howery; half-sister, Corinne Chapman; half-brothers, Silas Martin and Hugh Slusher. A special friend, Ann Dunbar also precedes him.

Mr. Slusher is survived by his nieces, nephews and their spouses, Ozz and Lena McNew, Ramona Sisson and Michael Martin, all of Shawsville, Vicki and Layne Howery of Floyd, Linda Martin of West Virginia and Sheree and William Harris II of Austin, Texas. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive him.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon, Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday evening.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2007 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Virgil N. McHone officiating.
