Slusher, Judy Wood

Judy Ann (Wood) Slusher, 73, of Christiansburg, Va., entered peacefully into eternal rest on February 6th, 2020. Born on January 11, 1947 in Christiansburg, Va. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clinton L. Slusher and her parents, Luther and Ruby Wood.

Surviving family include her sons Darrin (Nikki) Slusher & Wesley (Natalie) Slusher; her grandchildren, Caitlin Slusher, Tommy Darr, Ashlee Slusher & Mason Slusher. Judy leaves behind her special little dog, Lady who will miss her every day.

Judy was a loving mother and grandmother, devoted to caring for her family. Judy never ran into a stranger, she loved to talk to everyone and considered you a friend after a brief conversation. She had a very kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 10 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Jerry Dowdy officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank her dedicated friends and caregivers, Gloria Hylton, Francie Sutphin, Connie Dudding, Delores Agee, Frances Hollandsworth, & Nora at English Meadows along with the entire staff and the Medi Hospice nurses.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Montgomery County Humane Society as Judy had a strong love and special place in her heart for all animals.
