Slaughter, Sagle

Sagle Slaughter, 83, of Dublin, Va. born Jan. 2, 1924 went home to be with the Lord June 12, 2007. He fought a good fight and kept the faith.

He was preceded in death by wife Estelle King Slaughter and by wife Myrtle Hill Slaughter, along with one daughter, Mozelle Gilkerson. He was also preceded in death by his parents Sherman Slaughter and Dora Slaughter Brown, and brother Beauford Slaughter. He had been faithful in going to church in Princeton, W. Va.

Surviving are: his sisters, Evelyn, Betty, Sona, and Marylou; brother, Curtis; daughter, Jean; sons, Timothy, Joseph, Grant and Elliott; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Rita Neal, Princeton, W. Va. and Rev. Billy Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Thornspring Cemetery. Visiting will be Friday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
