Lula Izola Hollandsworth Slaughter, 84 of Willis, passed away May 24, 2007. She was preceded in death by parents, Cephas and Mettie Quesenberry Hollandsworth; three sisters, Opal Hollandsworth Mitchell, Ocie Velma Hollandsworth, Ila Hollandsworth; four brothers, Jett Hollandsworth, Gurlie Hollandsworth, Hurshel Hollandsworth, Cletus Hollandsworth.

Izola is survived by her loving husband, Herman L. Slaughter, of 66 years, Willis; daughter, Rachel Slaughter Marshall, Christiansburg; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Yvonne Slaughter, Willis; three grandchildren, Tammy Costigan and husband Scott, Christiansburg, Sonya Gautier and husband Tony, Pembroke, Joshua Slaughter, Roanoke; two great-grandchildren, Trista Costigan, Christiansburg, Seth Gautier, Pembroke; two sisters and brother-in-law, Arlie and Cecil Phillips, Fairborn, Ohio, Virginia Phillips Wetzel, Kernersville, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Kenneth Hopkins and Elder Tommy Pegram officiating. Interment to follow in Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Maberry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery c/o Vera Hall 2128 Macks Mt. Road Indian Valley, Va. 24105. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
