simpkins albert hugh srAlbert Hugh Simpkins, Sr., 69, of Radford, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of Snowville Baptist Church and was a truck driver with Intermet Foundry. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Rachel C. Simpkins; son and daughter-in-law, Albert Hugh, Jr. and Becky Simpkins; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Adrian Hall; grandchildren and their spouses Amber H. and Tim Reno, Cora S. and Chris Naylor, Bethany Hall and fiancé Zachary Abbott, Katy S. and Tony Viers, Ethan Albert Simpkins, and Clinton (CJ) Hall; two brothers Steve and Randall Simpkins; sisters and brothers-in-law Etta Simpkins, Betty and Larry Quesenberry, Ann and Robert Sharp, Brenda Lucas, Carolyn Adams, Joan and Donnie Anderson, and Bessie M. DeHart; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Joann Sowers, Margie and Tommy Mannon, Carol and David Whitlock, Helen and Carl Bain and Dennis Criner; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Snowville Baptist Church with Pastor Neil Wood and Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in the Showalter Cemetery in Floyd County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm Tuesday evening at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Snowville Baptist Church, 5296 Lead Mine Road, Hiwassee, VA 24347. The Simpkins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
