Simpkins, Sadie Viers

Sadie Viers Simpkins, 90. of Hiwassee, Va., passed away on Tuesday August 1, 2007 at her home. She was a loving mother and grandmother who put everyone before herself and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bessie Virginia Whitt Viers; a son; and a grandson.

Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law, Hugh A. and Rachel Simpkins of Radford, Steve Simpkins and Randall Simpkins, both of Hiwassee; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Etta Simpkins of Dry Valley, Betty J. and Larry Quesenberry of Radford, Patsy Ann and Bob Sharp of Patterson, Brenda M. Lucas of Elliston, Carolyn A. Adams of Dublin, Joan E. and Donnie Anderson of Shawsville, and Bessie C. Massie of Radford; special grandson, Madison Lee Ramsey; twenty three grandchildren; and thirty two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Snowville Baptist Church in Snowville with the Rev. Neil Woods and the Rev. Curtis Ratcliffe officiating. Interment will follow in Simpkins Cemetery in Snowville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2007 at Mullins Funeral Home.
