Simpkins, Rita Goad

Simpkins, Rita Ann Goad (Dissy), 59, of Radford, VA passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014. She was preceded in death by a sister, Verona Yates.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Simpkins, Son, Eugene Stigger, parents, Nomia and Wiley Goad, sisters, Selena and Raymond East, Cindy and Larry Fender, and Monica and Earl Lawrence, brother-in-law Larry Yates, and many special nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Selena East, Kelena East, and Christy Dishon, the Blue Ridge Cancer Center, and the nurses and doctors at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

Also, a special thank you to her church friends and her prayer warriors, Ida Bishop and Roxanne Bond.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the New Hope Church of God. The funeral service will be conducted at the church on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
