Simpkins, Pauline and Joel

Pauline Ratcliffe Simpkins, 80, and Joel Thomas Simpkins, 74 of Pulaski, VA went home to be with The Lord on April 23, 2014. They had a love that carried them both to heaven two hours apart.

Pauline was born May 1, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Albert and Bertha Ratcliffe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Minnie May Morris and Junior Lee Ratcliffe.

Joel Simpkins was born September 16, 1939 and was the son of the late Noah and Dora Simpkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Stella Altizer; and brothers, Willard “Tody,” Clarence “Dick,” and Archie.

Pauline and Joel are survived by their daughter, Lisa Simpkins and her husband Richard Hoyer; their son, Dennis Ratcliffe and wife Naomi; grandchildren Natalie and Dustin; great granddaughter, Haleigh Ratcliffe; their special niece, Teresa Sutherland and husband Toby; Joel’s brother, Millard; Joel’s brother, Paul; Pauline’s aunts Goldie Crowder and Lucy Newman.

Joel and Pauline chose to be cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, April 27th at 2:00pm at New Life Church of the Nazarene, 45 South Jefferson Avenue, Pulaski. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the New Life Church of the Nazarene.
