Simpkins, James Thomas

James Thomas Simpkins, 65, of Pearisburg, Va., passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007. Mr. Simpkins was born on February 2, 1942 in Snowville, Va. and was a son of the late Waddie Thomas Simpkins and Lucille Moore Simpkins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Simpkins. Mr. Simpkins was a U.S. Army and Air Force Veteran and was a retired employee of Alliant Tech Systems, (Radford Arsenal).

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Tabor Simpkins of Pearisburg; one stepdaughter, Linda A. and husband Bryan French of Peterstown, W.Va.; one brother, Roger Simpkins of Snowville; two sisters, Wanda Simpkins of Blacksburg, Carolyn and husband Duane Vickerman of Denver, Colo.; one uncle, Don East of Pearisburg; one stepgranddaughter, Schallyne Stone; one stepgreat-grandson, Nathan Robertson; four nieces, Connie Viar, Kim Simpkins, Susan Viars, Christine Crouch; and two nephews, Dean Simpkins and Bobby Boothe.
