Simpkins, Carolyn Semones

Carolyn Sue Simpkins, 79, of Christiansburg passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 after a short illness. Carolyn was born in Radford, Virginia to the late Mark F. and Janie M. Semones.

She was retired from Radford University where she worked in the Catering Department. She was also a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Joe D. Simpkins and her brother Mike Semones of Pittsburg, Kan.

Survivors include her son, Greg Perdue and wife Debbie of Riner; granddaughter, Michaela Perdue of Blacksburg; Carolyn’s special cousin Leisa Lefew and her sons Chris and Riley of Woolwine; and special Aunt Dot Semones and her family. Also surviving are her two special friends, Helen Bain and Betty Barr. A special thanks to Medi Home Health Hospice and her nurse Marsha Harrelson and her caregivers Dee Woolwine and Michelle Hull for their help with keeping mom comfortable during this time.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. with Pastor Mark Miller officiating.
