Simpkins, Arnie Gallimore

Arnie Gallimore Simpkins, 91, of Floyd went to her heavenly home on Tuesday July 10, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents C.L. and Stella Gallimore, husband Orville Q. Simpkins, daughter Janet S. Howell, and son Clark Simpkins, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Quinton and June Simpkins, Christiansburg, Paul and Marie Simpkins, Floyd; daughters and son-in-law, Betty and Jack Saul, Fancy Gap, Mary Akers, Floyd; brothers, Charles Gallimore of Floyd, and Roger Gallimore, Christiansburg; sisters Dovie Quesenberry, Riner, Isabell Shelor, Christiansburg; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday July 13, 2007 at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, Floyd, with Rev. Richard Thomas, Rev. Marvin Wade and Rev. Hebron Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd.
