Simms, Jerry

Jerry Simms, 84, of Elliston, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Berwind, West Virginia on January 10, 1932 to the late Earl and Oma Lowe Simms. Jerry was a retired Insurance Agent with the Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edith Simms; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Abe Clark; son, Barry Simms, all of Elliston; grandchildren, Jeremy and wife, Sarah Clark, Holly Bergeron and husband, David; sister, Pearl Richardson; brother, Jimmy Simms; sister-in-law, Geraldine Almond; special nephew, Buck Clark and many other nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday, November 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Judes Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
