Simmerman, William David
William David (Bill) Simmerman, 69, of Lone Ash Road, Barren Springs, Va., passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at New River Valley Medical Center.
Born October 30, 1938 In Wythe County, he was the son of the late Phillip Simmerman and Mamie Stoots Simmerman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Betsy Simmerman Selfe, and one sister, Kathleen Simmerman Richardson. He was retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 24 years of service. Mr. Simmerman was a member of the Memorial Christian Church, Draper.
Surviving is his his wife, Betty Lois Pennington Simmerman, Barren Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Tim Dunford, Barren Springs, Rita and Ricky Boyd, Willis, Va., Billie and Jody Neel, Bland, Va.; chosen children, Robin Hughes Stacey, Surgoinsville, Tenn., David Hughes, Los Angeles, Calif., Ronnie Hughes, Weber City, Va.; grandchildren, John and Sara Dunford Summer and Tommy Corvin, Amy Boyd, Tyler Boyd, Brandon Arnold, Laura Adkins, Mattie Selfe; great granddaughter, Riley Dunford; many special aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; friends; and relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 2 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Church Cemetery, Carroll County.
