Sifford, David Wayne

David Wayne Sifford, 44, of Radford, Va., passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. David was born on February 13, 1970. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lorrina and Wagner Wyrick and Walter and Ethel Sifford.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jonathan Sifford; his mother and stepfather, Patsy Wyrick and Rockie Chenault; his father and stepmother, Walter Douglas and Brenda Bainbridge Sifford; his brothers, Brian D. (Shannon) and Darrell E. (Donetta) Sifford, his stepbrother, Brian Bainbridge; his stepsisters, Angel Bainbridge and Michelle Thompson; a special friend, Lisa Turpin; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many, many friends.

David worked for many years as an electrician for Jarrett’s Electric. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved everyone, only asking for love in return. He was the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was the type of guy who would give second chances when many others would have given up and walked away. God knows he loved his son and family with all his heart. He loved music, dancing, and life. His favorites were Elvis, Matt Kenseth, the Dallas Cowboys, and Alabama football. He was a wonderful soul to be around and he will surely be missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 29, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parrot Church of God in Parrott, Va. Funeral Services will be held at the same location on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Reverends Ken Alley, Michael Bonds, and Jamie Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Sifford Cemetery in Parrott, Va.
