Shumate, Joan Doss

Joan Gail Doss Shumate, age 80 of Pulaski passed away Saturday evening, December 14, 2019 at the Lewis-Gale Hospital, Pulaski. Born April 21, 1939 in Bluefield, WV she was the daughter of the late James Bradley Doss & Trilby Adelene Pauley Doss. Her daughter, Diana Lynn Shumate and sister, Helen Claudette Ballinger also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her

Husband of 56 years Glen Roger Shumate – Pulaski

Son Brian Keith (Kimberly Renee) Shumate – Draper

Grandson Korey Mathew Shumate

Great Grandson Bradley Mathew Xavier Shumate

Sister Janet Busby – Columbus, GA

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM – Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Perry Slaughter and Rev. Donald Martin officiating. Entombment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens-Mausoleum, Dublin.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
