Shrader, Julia Ellen

Julia “Judy” “Baebae” Ellen Shrader, age 56, of Blacksburg died Monday, December 29, 2014 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Pulaski, VA on July 18, 1958 to the late Wade Hampton and Alice Hanson Horton and was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Richardson; two brothers, Carl Horton and Wayne Parks; and her birth mother, Marlene Francis Parks.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen D. Shrader of Blacksburg; two daughters, Viola Dawn Hensel of Catawba, Christy Michelle Allen of Blacksburg; two step daughters, Dawn Marie Shrader of Syracuse, IN, Jennifer Lynn Wolz and husband, Trey of Christiansburg; one step son, Charles Stephen Shrader and wife Meredith of Radford; one sister, Kathy Johnson of Fredericksburg, VA; two brothers and sister-in-law, Lee and Loralie Parks of Pulaski, David and Elaine Parks of Troutville; three grandchildren, Dakota Wayne Hensel, Tyler Robert Bosstick, Kaitlyn Brooke Shrader; special friends, Floyd Lee Allen, Cindy Ann Jarels.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 1, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jarek Nowack officiating. Interment will following in the Henley Cemetery, Hillsville, VA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, 1183 Flanagan Drive, Christiansburg, VA 24073 or MEtavivor, 1783 Forest Drive #184, Annapolis, MD 21401.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
