David Phillip Shrader, 54, of Narrows, departed this life Sunday evening, December 14, 2014 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Born in Pearisburg on January 27, 1960, he was a son of Geneva Dalton Shrader of Narrows and the late John Allen Shrader.

He was a member of French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church on Little Creek and had been self-employed as a drywall contractor.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother; his son and daughter-in-law Zachary and Megan Shrader of Pearisburg; his daughters and sons-in-law Melissa and Marvin Crutchfield of Narrows, Amanda Shrader of Narrows, Kimberly and Jason Breeding of Narrows, Reana Shrader of Narrows; his grandchildren Hunter Cumbee, Jacob Cumbee, Dustin Cumbee, Alissa Lape (and two more on the way); his former wife and mother of his children Juanita Shrader; his brother Jerry Shrader of Washington, DC; his sisters Sandra Kay Fredman of Martinsburg, WV, Betty Lou Shrader of Narrows; and two foster sisters Crystal Martinez and June Pennington; and a host of beloved friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Billy Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Shrader Cemetery on Wolf Creek above Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
