Showalter, Armen Maxwell

Armen Maxwell Showalter, 65 of Indian Valley, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Oscar & Audrey Harris Showalter. A beloved husband, father, and friend has passed onto the next stage in his journey. Armen was a visionary and an experimenter. His life was a quest for understanding. He sought his own truths, and was both teacher and student to all who knew him. He truly will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Nanette J. Showalter; daughters & son-in-law, Kira F. & Steve Ritter, and Sarah E. Showalter. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Showalter Cemetery, c/o Jo Ann Sowers, 4556 Longs Ridge Road, Radford, VA 24141 for the upkeep of the cemetery.
