Shortt, Iva Geraldine

Iva Geraldine Shortt, 84, of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2013. She was born on October 16, 1928, to the late David and Alma Shortt, and was sister of the late Rural Shortt. Also preceding her in death was a very special cousin, Peggy Bullin; and two beloved aunts, Dovie Nolen and Mamie Barton.

Those left to cherish her memory are sister-in-law, Bernease Shortt; niece, Joyce Askey (Arthur); nephew, Maurice Quesenberry (Connie); nephew, Greg Shortt (Debbie); great-nieces and nephews, Megan Quesenberry, Michelle Faherty (Mark), Marc Quesenberry (Kim), Kendall Shortt, and Korey Shortt; and two great- nephews, Marshall and Elijah Faherty.

Geraldine enjoyed her many years on the farm, along with spending time with family and friends at County Line Church.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Heritage Hall-Laurel Meadows, Laurel Fork, for their compassionate care and friendship shown to Geraldine over the past five years.

Funeral Services will be held at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2013, with Pastor Dale Belcher officiating. Interment will follow at County Line Cemetery. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the funeral services at Gardner Funeral Home.
