Shores, Carol Jean Creasey

Carol Jean Creasey Shores, 71, of Christiansburg, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, after a short battle with stage 4 breast cancer. She was born in Montgomery County on October 14, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Fredrick Clifton (Sonny) Shores; her parents, Lewis Elliott Creasey and Almeda Williams Creasey Sutphin; stepfather, Alloy Sutphin; brother, Earl Sidney Creasey; half brother, Tommy Creasey. She retired from sales and services with Fashion 220, Century 21, and a salon owner. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Clifton Shores and wife, Vickie, of Alexandria; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki Lynn Shores Perkins and husband, Stan, of Christiansburg, Michele Leigh Shores Gerhard and husband, Craig, of Huntsville, Ala.; grandchildren, Daniel Clifton Shores, Laura Paige Shores, both of Alexandria, Nathaniel (Nate) Perkins, of Christiansburg, Brock Steven Gerhard, Taylor Grace Gerhard, both of Huntsville, Ala. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, in the First Church of God, Christiansburg with the Rev. Lance Jenkins officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Shiloh Cemetery, Sparta, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure , Attn. Donor Services, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Friends may call any time Thursday, and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
