Shirah, Gay

Gay Shirah, 72, of Radford (Snowsville Community), died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at his home.

Surviving are his wife, Janice S. Shirah of Radford; two sons, Clifford Shirah and his friend, Donna Phillips and Randall Shirah and wife, Shelia, both of Radford; two daughters, Rebecca S. and Melvin Thompson of Knoxville, Tenn. and Melissa Shirah and friend, Melissa Boxall of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, James Shirah of Destin, Fla.; a sister, Joan Adkins of Destin, Fla.; one aunt “Aunt Bill” of Destin, Fla.; six grandchildren, Lee, Dusty, MacKenzie, Holley and Cade Shirah and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with Mr. Larry Phillips and Mr. Rudolph Shelburne officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carilion Hospice, the Snowville Volunteer Fire Department or to a favorite charity.
