Sherman, Ada Ernestine
Ada Ernestine Sherman died peacefully at Radford Health and Rehab Center Tuesday evening, August 23rd, 2016. She was born in Radford, Virginia on October 31, 1932 to the late Guy Hall, Sr. and Mildred Hall.
Ernestine lived and served in the Wake Forest community for more than 50 years. She accepted Christ as her lord and savior in 1954 and served faithfully as the pianist and treasurer for the New Pentecostal church in Wake Forest. On her sick bed Ernestine continued to witness, sing praises to her god and testify of his goodness while encouraging others. In her final days she sang one of her favorite songs Plenty of Good Room in My Fathers Kingdom reminding everyone it is only what we do for Christ that will last.
Ernestine is preceded in death by her siblings, Guy Hall, Jr, Ruth Purdue, Fannie Hendricks and Virginia Hall. She leaves to cherish in memory her husband of sixty years Grant Leon Sherman. In her words, “While the lord did not bless me with any children, I was blessed to raise two nieces” – Esther Reed and Inez Wiley, one son in love, Ronald Mills and a special nephew Sydney Hall and a host of grandnieces and nephews, cousins, friends and special loved ones.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. August 28, 2016 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Parson, Sr. officiating.
