Sheppard, Rudolph Jackson

Rudolph Jackson (Jack) Sheppard, 73, of Dublin died, Sunday, March 1, 2015 at his home. He was born in Prices Fork on August 11, 1941 to the late James Earnest and Ethel Hutchison Sheppard.

He was preceded in death by his four brothers and five sisters. He retired as the Chief Burning Ground Operator at the Radford Army Amunition Plant after 32 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wilma Okes Sheppard, of Dublin; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Jeff Bentley, of Mocksville, N.C., Vicki and Eddie Nester, of Parrott, Traci and Chris Nelson, of Roanoke, Sheila and Mike Eversole, of Max Meadows; son and daughter-in-law, Carl (C.J.) and Bernadette (Bernie) Sheppard, of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Ricky, Brandon, Justin, Amanda, Dayle, Jessica, Samantha, Alex, Lindsay, Christopher (Topper), Benjamin, Bryce, Parker, Makenzee, Jacob (Tank); seventeen great-grandchildren and one expected; sister, Nora Bell Cromer, of Walnut Cove, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Eversole officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, March 4, 2015 at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg.
