Sheppard, Dorothy Kesterson

Dorothy Kesterson Sheppard, 87, of Christiansburg, Va., departed this life for her Heavenly home on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Born in Walton, Va.,, on February 7, 1924, to Guy and Ethel Kesterson, she has been reunited with those who preceded her in death: her parents, brothers and sisters; her loving husband, Archie Sheppard; son, Johnnie Sheppard; granddaughter, Katelynn Hutson; and grandson, Mike Blankenship. Those left to mourn her passing include her son, Rod Sheppard (Dorine); daughter, Joyce Jones (Freddy); grandchildren, Cassidy Sheppard, Landen Sheppard, Amy Hutson (Chris), Greg Jones (Katie Delp), and Susan Duncan (Billy); brothers, Bobby Kesterson (Kim), of Dover, Del., and Hanford Kesterson (Virginia), of Parrott, Va.; great- grandchildren, Christopher Blankenship, Bradley Duncan, Logan Hutson, Emma Hutson and Vayanna Beagley; and nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Heritage Hall and Carilion Hospice. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 11, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the New Hope Church of God, Mud Pike, Christiansburg. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011, at New Hope Church of God with Pastor T. Michael Bond and the Rev. David Jones officiating.
