William Kent (Billy Shepherd, age 46, of Blacksburg died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his home. He was born in Oregon on August 18, 1966. He is survived by his wife, Melany Lynn Shepherd; parents, Patsy and Donald Shepherd; son, Harrison Lee Shepherd; sister, Carla Shepherd Fisher; mother-in-law, Gladys S. Hughes, all of Blacksburg; sister-in-law, Michelle and Robbie Patton of Max Meadows; brother-in-law, Stephen and Katie Hughes of Fairlawn; nephews, Owen Hughes, Ben Hughes of Fairlawn, Johnathan Carroll of Blacksburg; nieces, Kelsey Patton, Chloe Patton of Max Meadows, Leanna Fisher of Blacksburg; great nephew, J. J. Carroll of Blacksburg; special friends, Floyd Shealor, George Spradlin. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Shiloh Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Bansemer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
