Shepherd, Minar Harve

Minar Harve Shepherd, 85, of Pilot, Va., died on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on August 31, 1924, to the late Harve Edward and Ida Hodge Shepherd. Mr. Shepherd was preceded in death by an infant son; his 11 brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He served in the United States Army in the 1950s. He lived in Richmond, Va., for many years before returning to Montgomery County. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Everette Shepherd and the Rev. John Tibbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Shepherd Family Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
