Shephard, Jerold Wayne

Jerold Wayne Shephard, age 82, of Christiansburg went home to be with our Lord and Savior surrounded by family and loved ones on April 6, 2017. Jerry was an active member of Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church as was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw and will be missed by many. He was retired from the Redford Arsenal after 33 years. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jerold Wayne Shepherd, Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Martin and Melba Bullard. Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 64 years, Greta Shepherd; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Veronica Shepherd; granddaughters, Terri and husband, Eddie Murray, Ashley Shepherd, and Kacie Shepherd; great grandchildren, Jade Murray and Carter Murray; brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Coleen Shephard; three sisters, Patsy Sands, Bobby Keister, and Jackie Ward; along with several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Joey Kipps. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg. The family would like to give special thanks to Carilion Hospice for all the care they have given.
