Shelton, Ronnie Ray

Ronnie Ray Shelton, 60, of Riner, Va., died on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at his home. He was born in Bland County, Va., on November 11, 1948, to the late George and Mary Nunn Shelton and was also preceded in death by a brother, Rex Douglas Shelton.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lee Shelton; three sons, Randy Wayne Shelton, of Petersburg, Va., Steven Ray Shelton, of Richmond, Va., and Christopher Burman Shelton, of Christiansburg; two sisters, Joyce Wyatt, of Dublin, and Tammy Abbott, of North Carolina; brother, Gary Shelton, of Radford; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2009, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Shilo Cemetery in Bland, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening, August 1, 2009, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
