amem_christmas-house.jpgVernon Lee Shelor, 70, of Pulaski, VA, beloved father and grandfather, passed away in his daughters home December 24, 2003 after a brave fight with cancer. He was born in Virginia on December 10, 1933 and was the son of the late Levi Shelor and Delsie Edna Vipperman Shelor. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen S. Cochran.

Mr. Shelor was a retired carpenter with Jack Byrd Tiles, Pulaski.

Surviving are: Daughter and Son-in-law Jennifer and Chris Lanter of Max Meadows, VA; Step-daughter and Family Michelle and Todd Alley of Dublin, VA; Brother and Sister-in-law Eugene (Doby) and Mary Shelor of Draper, VA, one brother at heart Clinton Leon Key of Pulaski; grandchildren Taylor and Braxton Lanter of Max Meadows and five step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Draper’s Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Jim Dunn and Rev. Carl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery, Carroll County. Visiting will be Saturday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
