Max Shelor, 93, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 at his home in Radford, Va. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy where he taught Sunday school for over 20 years.

He was a retired supervisor at Lynchburg Foundry with 44 years of service. He was an avid hunter and woodworker.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Elsie U. Shelor, of Radford; two sons, Curtis and Stephanie Shelor, of Pulaski, and David and Kitty Shelor, of Radford; seven grandchildren, Debra Hoover, Joan Able, Kim Lytton, David Shelor Jr., William Shelor, Brent Shelor, and Jason Williams; and nine greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at the Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Cecil Frazier, the Rev. Tom Warren and the Rev. Sam Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford.
