Shelor, Jr., Alvin Elwood

Alvin Elwood Shelor, Jr., 54, of the Poplar Hill community passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at his home. He was born June 29, 1963 in Pulaski, VA, the son of Alvin Elwood Shelor, Sr. and Patricia Lewey Shelor.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Venco and enjoyed deer hunting, when he was able. He was a beloved son, brother and friend, and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam & Stella Shelor and Wilbur & Rita Lewey.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Alvin Elwood Sr., & Patricia Lewey Shelor; his sisters & brother-in-law, Kimberly Hare and Terry & Kenneth Smith; and two special nieces, Ashley Cadle and Becky Hare.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00A.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Rev. Olen Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Walkers Creek Cemetery, Inc. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
