Shelor, Helen Scott

Helen Scott Shelor, 86, of Dublin, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017. She was born September 29, 1930, in McDowell County, W.Va. the daughter of the late Judson and Lilly Scott. She was a member of Dublin United Methodist Church and worked alongside her late husband, Paul Clifford Shelor, in general contracting for Debusk and Shelor, Inc. which continued as Shelor, Inc. until 2009.

She is survived by her loving children, Jesse Shelor and his wife Cathie of Roanoke, Susan Shelor Deck of Stephens City, Rev. Don Shelor and his wife Terri of Dublin, and Patrick Shelor of Dublin; grandchildren, Joseph Deck, Bradley Deck, Katie Shelor, Beth Shelor, and Logan Shelor; and many other relatives and friends.

Helen’s family would like to thank her special caregivers, Martha Davis, Mary Ann Harris, and Emily Wesley, for their kind and loving care.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at the Dublin United Methodist Church. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. with Rev. Don Hanshew officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery.
