Shelor, Claude Acy (George)

Claude Acy (George) Shelor, 84, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County on November 22, 1925, to the late Charlie R. and Lucy B. Shelor and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby H. Shelor; brothers, Arlis and twin brother Charlie. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Bert Collins, Nancy and Dwight Price, of Blacksburg; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Dorothy, Terry and Janice, of Christiansburg, Larry and Queenie, of Dublin, Frank and Barbara, of Floyd; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arnold and Alice, Troy and Betty Shelor, of Blacksburg; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, two greatgreat-grandchildren, and many stepgrandchildren. Special thanks to grandchildren, Carol, B.J., Judy, Acy and Crystal and special friend, Sara Owens for helping. The family would also like to thank the Hospice Staff and special friend/family nurse, Lisa Gunter for the care and compassion of their family. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 5, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Christiansburg Bible Holiness Church with the Rev. Keith Linkous and the Rev. Delores Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made c/o Mary Collins (Miss Mary), 3706 Meadowbrook Drive, Blacksburg, Va. to assist the family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the Christiansburg Bible Holiness Church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
