Shelor, Bertha Jane

Bertha Jane Shelor, age 84, of Blacksburg died, Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at her home. She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on June 10, 1933 to the late Harry William and Carrie Elizabeth Snider Surface. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Pierce Shelor. During her retirement years she helped care for Mrs. Ruth Ogle.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Shelor, Radford, son, Mike Shelor, N.C., four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, sisters, Cindy Hiner, Blacksburg, Lina and Manuel Pedraza, FL., brother, Frank Wayne Surface, Blacksburg, special friend, Spracker Smith.

Graveside Services will be conducted Monday, May 7, 2018 at 12:15 pm in the Westview Cemetery with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Following the graveside service the family will gather at Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 noon at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
