Edward Henry (Pete) Shaw, Jr., 71 of Narrows passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24th, 2015. He was born in Beckley, West Virginia on January 12th, 1944, and was the son of the late Edward Henry Shaw, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Kovach Shaw.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edwina Henrietta Shaw.

A United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War, Ed also taught in the Pulaski County public schools for 28 years. While at Pulaski Middle School, the chess team that he sponsored participated in national competitions. An avid reader, he also enjoyed traveling, fishing, baseball and learning and teaching about history. He also had a wonderful sense of humor, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Susan Wagner Shaw; a sister, Sandra S. Kinkus and husband Thomas of Dover, Delaware; a niece, Pamela Lynn Kinkus of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a nephew, Todd Thomas Kinkus and wife Jennifer of Oxford, Pennsylvania; a great niece, Sophia Grace Kinkus; a great nephew, Tanner John Kinkus; along with numerous relatives.

At his request, he was cremated. A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26th, 2015 from 11 AM to 1 PM at First United Methodist Church in Narrows.
