Shaver, Ruby Hill

Ruby Hill Shaver, 87, of Copper Hill, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 7, 2008.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cleophas Shaver; two grandsons, Harold Crook II and Stephen Shaver; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Shaver; and son-in-law, William Henderson.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Shaver, of Copper Hill, daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Louise and Doyle Cross, of Marion, Betty Henderson, of Vinton, and Nancy S. and Willie King, of Bent Mountain; five grandchildren and their families; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Colene Martin, of Rocky Mount; a special niece, Linda Casey; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the Copper Hill Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Morris Wright, the Rev. Kenneth Crook and the Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Interment will follow in the Copper Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Copper Hill Cemetery, c/o Charles Smith, 8358 Deer Run Dr. S.E., Copper Hill, Va. 24079.
