Shaver, Helen H.

Helen H. Shaver, 83, of Blacksburg, died Thursday , November 23, 2006 at Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin. She was born in Snowville, Va. on June 20, 1923 to the late George and Girte Simpkins Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas (Jim) Shaver, Sr.

She is survived by a daughter, Toby Ann Hoback of Blacksburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Janet Shaver of Summersville, S.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, George Edward and Peggy Harris of Christiansburg; four grandchildren, Angela Lynn Gray, Lisa Dawn Shaver and friend Brian Zellner, Valerie Kay Willis and Pamela Lynn Albert; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Layne Board officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Friday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
