Shaver, Clara Virginia

Clara Virginia Shaver of Narrows Road in Pearisburg departed this life Sunday morning July 1, 2007 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem.

Born in Tazewell Co. on April 11, 1940 she was a daughter of the late Clarence B. and Savannah Asbury Carter. She had been employed in several local restaurants.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James B. Shaver, brothers Roger Lee and C. E. Carter and sisters Mary Lee and Kathleen Carter.

She leaves to cherish her memory a brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Julie Carter of Goldbond, Va.; sisters, Louise Carter of Pearisburg, Ethel Ann Perkins of Pearisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall and Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Fillinger Cemetery at Pembroke.
