Shaver, Billy Joe (Uncle Bill)

Billy Joe (Uncle Bill) Shaver, 75, of Riner, Va., died on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was born in Christiansburg, Va., on November 8, 1934, to the late Charles Rudolph and Annie Belle Cook Shaver. He was also preceded in death by a son, John Wesely Shaver; and two brothers, Frank Shaver and Sidney Shaver. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca and Gary Steck, of Blacksburg, and Dianna Easterling, of Riner; his son, David Wayne Shaver, of Christiansburg; three grandchildren, Eli Easterling, Courtney Steck, and Taylor Hale; two great-grandchildren, Natalie Easterling and Brooklynn Easterling; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise Rogers, of Blacksburg, Ellen and Archie Robinson, of Blacksburg, Peggy Matherly and Ronnie Myers, of Newport, and Patsy and Johnny Snead, of Blacksburg; two brothers and a sister-inlaw, Jimmy Shaver, of Blacksburg, and Johnny and Brenda Shaver, of Stumpy Point, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hurd officiating. Interment will follow in Shaver Family Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, August 4, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va., 540-552-3211.
