Jon Allen Shanklin, 46, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at his home in Montgomery County. He was a farmer and member of Snowville Christian Church.

Jon was preceded in death by his beloved aunt Jacque Sue Shanklin. Jon was a farmer, a jack of all trades, civil war reinactor, friend to all and never met a stranger. Loved his ol’ horse, Horse. He loved his dogs, nature, camping, horseback riding, Tech football, but most of all he loved and adored his wife and family.

Survivors include his wife, Angeline M. Shanklin; father, John Robert Shanklin of Radford; mother, Carroll Hamblin Gossett of Roanoke; maternal grandparents, Jack and Steel Gray Shanklin of Radford; daughter, Courtney Elizabeth Shanklin of Charlotte, NC; extended family, Nichole Beinborn, Alyssa Beinborn, Ashley Beinborn, all of Hot Springs, Ark, Kortni Beinborn of Radford, and Cheisi Krueger of Hot Springs, Ark; grandson, Mason Triplett (Little Mason Man); and numerous aunts ,uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Shanklin Cemetery in Montgomery County. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am.
